A self-retracting lifeline is a fall protection device with a lifeline that extends and retracts automatically as the user moves away from or toward the anchorage point.
Under normal movement, the lifeline follows the worker and helps reduce unnecessary slack. If a sudden fall occurs, the device is designed to lock and begin arresting the fall.
